This authoritative Sauternes starts off with an unctuous yet fresh feel. There’s admirable density to its notes of ginger, warmed peach, mirabelle plum, persimmon and green plum, with live-wire threads of bitter orange and almond that extend and support everything, plus tensile strength through the finish. The freshness of this wine combined with the honey-sugar density are just right. The taste of apricots, candied lemon zest, and a touch of spice are delicious, promising good aging. Drink from 2029.

A top-notch Sauternes this vintage, with both exuberance and finesse in vivid - and clean - aromas and flavours of pear, apricot, pineapple, mango, mandarin peel and ginger, cinnamon and bergamot tea. The palate combines opulence with the fine acidity of the 2023 vintage, as the estate handled the late summer heat wave and went through the vineyard three times, to be sure to get the best botrytis. Long finish, and potential for higher score once bottled. Ageing in 50% new oak for about 18 months. 150 grams of residual sugar.

The 2023 Suduiraut is a knockout Sauternes for the vintage. Very pure on the nose with wild honey, apricot and touches of lychee, this is packed with botrytised fruit. The palate has just the right amount of viscosity without overloading in terms of weight, making this relatively easier drinking compared to other vintages. Irresistible. 150 g/L residual sugar.

Even better from the bottle, this is a spell-binding sweet wine that lovers of this genre cannot be without. Intense, electric, and packed with ripe and overripe, honey-slathered tropical fruits, cashews, white peaches, and vanilla beans, Opulent and seductive, with more than enough racy acidity for balance, lift, and freshness. You can enjoy this young for all its sweet fruits, or age it for decades. The choice is yours. The wine was made from 100% Semillon. Drink from 2029-2060.

Medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Delicate lanolin, ripe tropical fruit, delicate honey touch, a hint of apricot confit. Fine oak kiss on the palate, ripe mango fruit, pleasant, integrated sweetness, powerful and mineral, fine honey note, sure development and certain ageing potential.

Powerful, concentrated, silky, pink grapefruit, mango, white truffle, quince, grilled cumin seeds; edges of grated ginger and bitter almond add depth and contrast. Excellent.

Score: 95-97. Aromas of apricot and peach on the nose, with the bright lift of verbena. Rich, with a whole range of flavours spanning fruit and flowers, with a touch of refined herbal notes.

Notes of toasted almonds, coconut and nougat mingle with hints of white flowers, raspberries, mandarin zest and passion fruit. Smooth on the attack, the wine stands out for its scope and breadth, and for its ability to temper its concentration, complemented by precious bitter notes that underscore freshness, expression and persistence. Yellow colour with coppery highlights. The nose is intense, refined, fruity and pure, with a hint of fresh almonds. Delicate on entry, very aromatic on the mid-palate, with a graceful texture and a melting body, the wine develops with a juicy, suave yet dynamic character. It finishes with a light spicy note and is impossible to spit out.
