A Pomerol wine with a perfect balance
Owned by Domaines Delon, Chateau Nenin embodies, according to the Delon family, "the expression of a great Pomerol meant to age". This 19th century estate was acquired by the Delon family in 1997 and underwent a major restructuring, bringing Chateau Nenin to the top of high-quality Pomerol.
Situated on the plateau of Pomerol, the vineyard of Chateau Nenin covers an area of 32 hectares, 8 of which are dedicated to the estate’s Grand Vin. The vines are planted on a mosaic of soils composed of clay, silica gravel, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles and iron ore.
The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was a very complex one to manage. However, the teams succeeded, thanks to their great dedication, in preserving the vineyard against all of the season’s climatic hazards and finally bringing the grapes to the stage of phenolic ripeness, which took place slowly but in a complete and qualitative manner. The noble terroir of the property did its work to produce smooth and elegant grapes that were harvested between September 24th and October 4th.
Chateau Nenin 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (64%) and Cabernet Franc (36%).
