The 2018 vintage marks the beginning of the estate vineyard’s transition to organic viticulture. A year of many challenges, 2018 brought with it significant pressure from parasites, with mildew arising after many rainy days in a row. However, the weather conditions that followed made it possible for the fruit to fully ripen and become concentrated in flavor.
The Chateau Montrose 2018 is made from a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Already, at the en primeur stage, the Chateau Montrose 2018 promises to be one of the great vintages ever produced at the estate, one that combines the fruity profile of 2009 with the precision of 2016.
