Chateau Meyney 51-hectare vineyard lies on silica and gravel-rich soils. Remarkable natural conditions yield exceptionally rich wines. The 2011 Chateau Meyney is 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot.
The vintage displays a very opaque, purple-ruby colour. The nose exudes black olives, currant, charcoal, and earth. This Saint-Estephe is superbly balances, with ripe, high quality tannins, pleasant density, and very distinguished array of flavours.
A sleeper of the vintage, the 2011 Meyney (which escaped the hailstorm that devastated the northern Pauillac border and St.-Estephe boundary line on September 1) possesses an opaque ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet bouquet of black olives, black currants, charcoal and earth. Dense and medium to full-bodied, this classic St.-Estephe offers good acidity and ripe tannin. It should drink well for 12-15 years.
