2005 Saint-Estephe

Chateau Meyney 51-hectare vineyard grows 35 to 40 year-old vines on silica and gravel-rich soil. The 2005 Chateau Meyney is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and 20% Petit Verdot.

The wine displays a purple red colour. The nose exudes strong fruits with currant and red fruit notes. The palate offers aromatic and fruity notes with round, crunchy tannins and very appealing length. The finish is quite supple.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
A dark ruby color is followed by aromas and flavors of sweaty leather, roasted herbs, spice box, and sweet cherries and plums. This superficial, pleasant, charming St.-Estephe lacks the depth, concentration, and finish of the vintage's finest wines. Drink it now and over the next 10-15 years.
