Description
The balance and fruity framework of a Margaux red wine
The estate
Founded in 2001, Château Marojallia is located between the vineyards of Château Le Tertre and Château Mombrison, in the Margaux appellation on Bordeaux's Left Bank. Advised by Muriel Andraud, creator with her husband Jean-Luc Thunevin of the first « garage wine » in Saint-Émilion, Philippe Porcheron makes a great wine from a micro-terroir that brings out all the exceptional potential of the Margaux appellation. Château Marojallia's wines are made with rigour, passion and a constant quest for excellence, and are recognised by the greatest critics for their rich aromas and quality.
The vineyard
Château Marojallia 2022 is a Margaux wine made from 5.83 hectares of vines. The vines are around 60 years old and are planted on deep gravel and sandy loam soils typical of the appellation.
The vintage
An early vintage, marked by a scorching summer. The vines were able to adapt despite the summer drought, allowing the grapes to reach optimum ripeness.
Winemaking and ageing
Hand-picked, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel truncated-cone vats. Vatting time: 30 to 38 days. Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 5 days at 6°C. The wine is aged exclusively in barrels (100% new French barrels - 7 coopers).
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (65%)
Merlot (35%).
