Description
The Freshness and Complexity of a Noble Pauillac Wine
Acquired by the Cazes family in 1939 and managed by the talented Jean-Michel Cazes since 2007, Chateau Lynch-Bages is held in high esteem by fans of the emblematic Pauillac appellation, on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region.
Over the years, the signature style of Lynch-Bages has emerged, always reflecting the identity of Pauillac - a depth and richness out of the ordinary -, thanks in particular to Jean-Michel Cazes.
The extremely selective plot-by-plot harvest has allowed for a beautiful expression of the atypical 2017 vintage, through perfectly healthy fruit full of anthocyanins and foreshadowing great success.
With its blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (24%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdot (2%), the Chateau Lynch-Bages 2017 reveals a precise bouquet with pure and fresh fruit that managed to achieve perfect maturity on time for harvest. The nose offers nice notes of black berries, cassis and black cherry, giving way to aromas of sweet spice. On the palate, the wine offers a broad texture, characterized by rich aromas upon tannins with a beautifully chewy texture that evolve great flexibility. The finish offers a very pleasant and persistent length. A perfectly accomplished wine from Lynch-Bages.
