The Typicity of a red Grand Vin from the Medoc, bearing the signature of Bernard Magrez

Situated in Saint-Christoly du Médoc on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, Château Les Grands Chenes has quite a rich history. The vineyards of the estate were planted around a fortress dating back to the 16th century. This Medoc wine region benefitted greatly from its proximity to the port of Saint-Christoly du Medoc, from which they shipped their wines, enjoying a great commercial boom.

Owned by Bernard Magrez, the Chateau Les Grands Chenes estate expands over 46 hectares of vines planted on soils of Garonne gravel. The vines are 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is produced under the expert advice of famous French winemaking consultant Michel Rolland.

Made from a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Chateau Les Grands Chenes 2018 offers in every sip the experience of a great red wine of the Medoc, graced with the signature style of Bernard Magrez.

Parker : 89-91 / 100
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 les Grands Chênes opens with scents of crème de cassis, baked cherries, herbs and earth with tilled soil notions. The palate is full-bodied, firm and grainy with muscular fruit and a long, earthy finish.
