Description
The elegance and freshness of a red Grand Vin from Pomerol
An exceptional year that confirmed that pretty much everything is possible in Bordeaux, 2018 has given rise to one of the best vintages in years.
A magnificent reference of the right bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Le Bon Pasteur offers, in its 2018 vintage, a superb expression of the terroir of Pomerol. This estate is certified High Environmental Value.
After a wet winter, spring continued to bring rainy weather. The talent and close attention of the technical team at Chateau Le Bon Pasteur were required to get the best out of the estate’s vines, since a threat from mildew loomed early on. In June, the sun came out again and remained until the date of the harvest.
A red Grand Vin of Pomerol, the Chateau Le Bon Pasteur 2018 is made from a blend of Merlot (75%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (25%). At the tasting, the vintage presents a dense purple-red color with violet reflections. The very fine aromatic bouquet opens with beautiful black fruit notes, while swirling the wine in the glass reveals beautiful spicy and licorice notes, punctuated by delicate floral fragrances that are the signature of the great wines of Pomerol. From the onset, the Chateau Le Bon Pasteur 2018 offers plenty of freshness and an elegant texture. The palate is tight with great precision and straightforwardness, presenting a gorgeous tannic structure and preserving plenty of bright aromas. The delicious and elegant finish persists for a long time. The product of an incredible vintage, the Chateau Le Bon Pasteur 2018 shines with a bright future ahead of it.
