Description
The freshness and complexity of a white Grand Vin from Pessac-Leognan
A great white vintage for Bordeaux, 2018 marked the birth of an unforgettable year at the Graves Grand Cru Classe estate Chateau Latour-Martillac.
Following a rainy spring with attacks of mildew in early summer, the beautiful weather conditions of a particularly hot July and August helped the grapes achieve a beautiful level of phenolic ripeness. The constant attention from the technical teams in both the vineyard and winery, as well as a very thorough selection of the fruit, was rewarded with an exceptional harvest of high-quality grapes.
At Chateau Latour-Martillac, the white grape harvest began with Sauvignon on August 28th, followed by the Semillon on September 7th.
A blend of Sauvignon (54%) and Semillon (46%), the Chateau Latour-Martillac Blanc 2018 expresses the grandeur of the clay-limestone soils of Pessac-Leognan. The wine has a great aromatic freshness and a complex expression on the palette, evolving notes of citrus, yellow fruit and grilled dried berries with notes of hazelnut. Perfectly balanced, the palate leaves an impression of great freshness and tasty fruit flavors, displaying a beautiful tension and a lively acidity.
