Description

The style of a grand Cru Bourgeois of Saint-Estephe

A Cru Bourgeois classified wine since 1932, Chateau Laffitte Carcasset is one of the surest values from the famous Saint-Estephe appellation in Medoc.

With wines of quality and consistency from recent years, the Chateau Laffitte Carcasset 2017 confirms its rank among the best Crus Bourgeois from the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region despite a challenging year.

A superb 18th century estate surrounded by a vineyard planted in the heart of the Garonne gravel plateau of Saint-Estephe, Chateau Laffitte Carcasset has been famous for its wines for over two centuries.

After Mr. Rousseau acquired the estate in 2016, this new vintage is under the banner of excellence and renewal. This is the first vintage produced under the guidance of consultant oenologist Hubert de Bouard and his team.

The numerous investments and work carried out in both the vineyard and in the winery undoubtedly contributed to defining the wine with an even more precise style and quality.

With a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (59%), complemented by Merlot (40%) and Cabernet Franc (1%), the Chateau Laffitte Carcasset 2017 brilliantly illustrates the excellence of the Medoc style. In order to preserve the purity of the fruit, aging was carried out over a period of 12 months, which included 30% of the wine in new French oak barrels.
