Description
An elegant Pomerol red wine in the style of Chateau La Croix du Casse
The Chateau La Croix du Casse 2008 is a wine produced by the eponymous property, acquired by the Casteja family in 2005.
Located at the southern tip of the Pomerol plateau, Chateau La Croix du Casse is one of the leading names in the smallest appellation of the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region. Full of charm, the Chateau La Croix du Casse 2008 is a wine representative of its excellent terroir of origin. The old gravel soils with a good proportion of iron scum provide the ideal conditions for Merlot, grown on 90% of property.
In the glass, the Chateau La Croix du Casse 2008 presents a ruby color with deep purple reflections. When swirled, the aromatic palette gradually opens up, revealing wonderful woody notes, which give way to fresh red fruit aromas, ending on notes of undergrowth and truffle. On the palate, the attack is frank and reflects a beautiful freshness characteristic of the Pomerol appellation. The wine also offers firm tannins with a beautiful texture. An elegant Pomerol wine to enjoy now or to keep until 2022.
