The estate
A Margaux Third Classified Growth of 1855, Chateau Desmirail illustrates, through its wines, the typical qualities of its exceptional terroir. Owned by the Lurton family since 1992, Chateau Desmirail has equipped itself with an infrastructure that matches its terroir, allowing for the elevation of this Cru Classe to the highest level.
The vineyard
The Chateau Desmirail vineyard covers some 40 hectares cultivated with the greatest respect for the environment with the implementation of sustainable viticulture. The soils are made up of gravel dating from the Quaternary.
The vintage
The early harvest began on September 17 under ideal conditions. A rainy episode reduced the alcohol content of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The harvest ended on September 29.
The blend
The Chateau Desmirail 2020 is made from a blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Petit Verdot (10%).
The tasting
The Chateau Desmirail 2020 seduces with its balance of ripe tannins, alcoholic power and delicate acidity. Of high quality, this vintage with great aging potential is one of the property's greatest successes, reminiscent of the 2000 vintage.
