2010 Sauternes Second Cru Classe, Bordeaux
The 2010 Sauternes Chateau de Myrat was produced from a vineyard of 22 hectares, planted on the beautiful Haut-Barsac stony terroir and owned by Chateau de Myrat. This vintage is 88% Sémillon, 8% Sauvignon and 4% Muscadelle.
The nose is bold, roasted, elegant, and aromatic on citrusy, apricot and plum aromas. The palate is pure, tender, complex and outstandingly aromatic. The 2010 Chateau de Myrat harmoniously associates freshness, vibrancy and density. This exceptional vintage will seduce in its youth and has a promising ageing potential.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The Chateau de Myrat 2010 has a lifted bouquet with touches of algae dappling the botrytized fruit, lending it a Barsac-like character. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy textured opening. There is moderate acidity and a gentle build in the mouth toward a custard-cream finish that needs to muster more tension to merit long-term cellaring. This is a decent Sauternes 2010 that needs more personality. Drink now-2026.
