    1997 Sauternes 2e Cru Classe

Chateau de Myrat estate is located in Haut-Barsac. The property covers 30 hectares which include a 22-hecatre vineyard and an 8-hectare park. The 1997 Chateau de Myrat is 88% Semillon, 8% de Sauvignon Blanc, and 4% Muscadelle.

This Sauternes 2e Cru Classe a beautiful, shiny and clear, lightly amber pale yellow hue. The complex nose reveals linden, acacia honey, gingerbread, and nutmeg. The round and silky palate leads to candied fruits and dry apricots finish. The feminine and elegant vintage from Bordeaux presents great harmony and finesse. The thick and round ensemble finishes on spicy notes, with commanding ginger and orange zest.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted at the de Myrat vertical at the property. The 1997 Château de Myrat has not aged particularly well. The nose seems to have deteriorated since Robert Parker tasted the wine back in 1999, with strong diesel fuel aromas. The palate is light bodied with slightly bitter citrus fruit, just a faint dab of wild honey before it rushes out the exit on the finish. Drink up. Tasted April 2016.
