Wine Spectator

Delicate and fresh, with lemon, flower, sweet apple and cream on the nose and palate. Medium-to-full body, with medium sweetness and a minerally, lemony aftertaste. Drink now. 4,165 cases made.

Very pale color, with almost linden-green highlights. Rich bouquet, a slight slate note, concentrated, typical Barsac nose, with a hint of fresh pears in the background. On the palate, almost oily, wrapped in soft, silky texture; despite its richness, it shows finesse, pleasant, perhaps finishing a touch on the slender side.

99: Barrel sample (17/20): very pale color; almost linden-green highlights. Rich bouquet with a slight slate touch; concentrated, typical Barsac nose, with scents of fresh pears behind. On the palate, almost oily, but wrapped in a soft, silky texture. Despite its richness, the wine remains refined, pleasant, though perhaps finishing a bit on the slender side. (17/20). 11: 1998 Château Coutet: medium yellow, bright. Sweet bouquet, plenty of vanilla and mirabelle plums, soft botrytis. On the palate, raisiny, not fresh and peppery like a Barsac, but rather already liqueur-like like a Sauternes. Not exactly convincing at the moment, as it somehow lacks tension.

André Kunz

Lush, broad, plush bouquet with dried apricots, dried pears and bitter orange. Velvety, elegant, soft palate with a slightly mealy extract, pronounced sweetness, medium acidity, and a long, silky finish. 18/20 drink – 2030

Bettane+Desseauve

Young, pale, with great aromatic finesse, no heaviness in the sweetness, still too simple, too focused on acacia on the palate. A great future.

Jean-Marc Quarin

Pale yellow color. Pink highlights. Beautiful. Nose of medium intensity. Fine. Fruity. Candied. Subtle. Floral. Note of roasted almond. Lychee. With swirling, floral. Kiwi. Soft entry on the palate and immediately refined in texture. The wine unfolds with medium body, offering a graceful, elegant feel, and it melts on the finish, recalling the aromas perceived on the nose. Meticulous wine that goes down effortlessly. Its taste evokes the presence of a great terroir.
