The palate is round and smooth. The aromatic palette of this Barsac displays a great finesse and has a lot of elegance brought forth by a back whiff of exotic fruits and hints of sweet spices (mild spices and nutmeg). An enjoyable length on the palate, the wine's liveliness exemplifies a vintage that will be remembered for its freshness. Thanks to the cool terroir of Barsac, Château Coutet's 2012 distinct vivacity is preserved.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. The 2012 Château Coutet was showing a bit of reduction on the nose when I tasted it: just a touch of chlorine behind the clear honey and waxy aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous opening. There is commendable weight in the mouth with dried honey and peach notes, although it just cuts away rather swiftly on the finish. I would give this a couple of years in bottle.
