Description
The richness and elegance of a Montagne Saint-Émilion red wine
The property
Coralie de Boüard and her husband Loïc Maillet acquired the Château Clos de Boüard in 2016, located in the satellite appellation Montagne Saint-Émilion.
The vineyard
Château Clos de Boüard oversees a vineyard covering an area of 30 hectares. Approximately 40 years old, the vines planted on south-facing clay-limestone slopes give birth to a great red wine from Montagne Saint-Émilion.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest before selection via optical sorting. Pre-fermentation maceration at 8 -10 °C. Alcoholic fermentation. Maceration for 3 to 5 weeks. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels. Parcel vinification, accompanied by manual punch-downs. The aging lasts for 18 months in barrels (30% in new barrels and 30% in barrels of one wine).
Blend
Château Clos de Boüard 2023 is a blend of merlot (85%), cabernet franc (10%) and cabernet sauvignon (5%).
