Description

A signature Grand Vin of Coralie de Bouard

With this newest 2017 vintage, Chateau Clos de Bouard confirms its to the rank of Grands Crus from the Montagne-Saint-Emilion satellite appellation on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region.

Extending over 30 hectares in the village of Parsac, Chateau Clos de Bouard enjoys a superb clay-limestone soil.

The Chateau Clos de Bouard 2017 perfectly illustrates the philosophy that drives the talented "wine maker" Coralie de Bouard: producing wines that reveal an authentic and pure expression of fruit, maintaining an elegance and inimitable freshness.

A single-varietal Merlot, the Chateau Clos de Bouard 2017 shows off all the typical characters of this red grape variety. In a year of many challenges, the harvest of Merlot in September revealed a perfect balance between freshness, fruity aromas, sugars and acidity in very colorful fruit. An extremely careful winemaking is the hallmark of this vintage. While the nose expresses generous Merlot, with notes of ripe black fruit, dried herbs and spicy flavors, the smooth extractions has allowed for a great structure and density, paired with perfectly silky, velvety tannins. A superb wine that will evolve very nicely over the next few years.
