The timelessness of an Amarone from Bertani

Timeless since 1958, Amarone Classico embodies all the singularity of the style of the iconic Italian producer Bertani.

From the grape varieties traditionally used for the production of Amarone, Rondinella and Corvina, the Amarone Classico Bertani comes from the great terroirs of Tenuta Novara. The Tenuta Novara is located in the heart of the hills of the "Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC" appellation, near the village of Arbizzano di Negrar, in Veneto province in the north-east of Italy.

The berries are picked when they are fully ripe, and then they are dried on racks or "arele", bamboo trays, for a period of 120 days. At the end of this process, which ends in January, the dried berries have concentrated aromas and sugars. After fermentation, the wine begins a long period of aging of at least 6 years in oak coming from the Slavonia forests in Croatia. The result is an exceptional wine with an extraordinary aging potential.

True to the style that has made Amarone’s reputation, the Amarone Della Valipolicella Classico Bertani 2009 reveals an intense color with garnet shades. Complex and expressive, the aromatic bouquet presents all the typicity associated with a great Amarone and opens up with plum and cherry notes. All in nuances, the palette reveals floral fragrances dried fruit notes, and spices highlights with licorice notes. The palate seductively offers delicate notes of red fruit and vanilla, which is balanced with the fruit’s brilliant acidity and tannic structure.
