The Estate
Viña Almaviva was born in 1997 from a partnership between Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and Don Alfonso Larrain, President of Viña Concha y Toro. The Viña Almaviva project stemmed from the ambition to create a truly great wine from Chile, combining French winemaking expertise with the unique expression of this Central Valley terroir.
The Vineyard
Located in the heart of the magnificent Chilean Maipo Valley, the Almaviva vineyard spans 50 hectares. The emblematic grape varieties of the Bordeaux vineyards thrive wonderfully on this exceptional terroir. Almaviva has today become an essential reference among the great Central Valley wines around the world.
The Vintage
While the weather was particularly dry at the start of the growing cycle, especially in spring, the summer season was marked by milder temperatures. These conditions ensured optimal ripening of the grapes.
