Description
The balance and richness of a great Sauternes wine
The estate
With the first harvest carried out in 1618, the Clos Haut-Peyraguey is a historic Sauternes property. Located on the highest lands of the Bommes hill, the 1st Grand Cru Classé of Sauternes in 1855, Clos Haut-Peyraguey takes its name from Peyraguey which means hill or promontory. Acquired in 2012 by Bernard Magrez, Clos Haut-Peyraguey is among the most beautiful classified growths of Sauternes.
The vineyard
The vineyard intended for the production of the Symphonie de Haut-Peyraguey cuvée extends over 20.5 hectares of vines averaging 36 years old. Located in the communes of Barsac and Sauternes, the vines are planted on sandy-gravel soils resting on a clay subsoil. The vineyard is managed using sustainable viticulture.
The wine
The Symphonie de Haut-Peyraguey cuvée is made from a selection of vines from the 1st Grand Cru Classé in 1855 Clos Haut-Peyraguey. Following in the footsteps of its elder and crafted with the same requirements as the Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Symphonie du Haut-Peyraguey offers the experience of a great Sauternes wine.
Blend
The Symphonie de Haut-Peyraguey 2016 is made from a blend of 95% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Blanc. Like its elder, Clos Haut-Peyraguey, the Symphonie de Haut-Peyraguey is in line with the very beautiful references of Sauternes.
