One of the most famous and reliable Second vin of the Gironde left bank, the cuvee Réserve de la Comtesse is produced by Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. This 2015 Pauillac is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
The 2015 is a great vintage. The 2015 Réserve de la Comtesse reveals a complex and fruity nose composed of blackberry and citron notes. This Margaux palate is strong, structured, dense and long with spicy aromas. The finish offers blackcurrant and tobacco aromas.
The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Reserve de la Comtesse is a little tarry to begin, with red and black fruits, herbs and damp soil scents. Medium-bodied, firm, fresh and chewy in the mouth, it finishes a little green and herbal.
