Since the French Revolution, the Pavelot family has been making wine is Savigny-Les-Beaune, a small village just below the hill of Corton, in the center of Cote d'Or. Domaine Pavelot was passed from father to son and operated primary as a negociant operation. It was not until after World War II that the family began to bottle their own wine. But it was Jean-Marc Pavelot who in the 1980's put both the family estate and the wines of Savigny-Les-Beaune on the international wine map. Today, working with his son Hugues, Jean-Marc continues to produce pure, concentrated, balanced wines that deliver an unmistakable sense of place.
