The producer Chateau du Moulin-à-Vent has existed for almost 300 years since it's creation in 1732. The chateau became well known for quality wines early on in its history thanks to the pioneering tactics of Philibert Pommier. Philibert was the first in the Beaujolais region to make wines from individual vineyards instead of blending grapes from the entire estate.
It's soil is granitic, and rich in manganese and iron oxide. The minerality of the soil is perfect for growing the Beaujolais region's world-renown Gamay grape variety.
