In 1930, Kosie Louw, the heir to Neethlingshof, decided to spend his inheritance to purchase a small piece of the Annandale Farm on which to build a home for himself and his new bride. Kosie's friends and new wife considered this to be a bold and audacious move, and so was born the name of his new farm, Audacia. Audacia is a thirty two hectare wine farm in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The vineyards are located in what is considered to be "The Golden Triangle" of Stellenbosch, one of the best areas for growing red grape varieties. It is for this reason that Audacia calls themselves "The Red Wine Boutique Winery".
