Mathilde, Michel Chapoutier's daughter, has taken over this iconic house, which has over 350 hectares of vineyards in the most prestigious appellations of the northern and southern parts of the Rhone Valley.

The vineyard

M.Chapoutier's 2017 Croix de Bois stems from a terroir that is composed of typical Chateauneuf-du-Pape soils, comprising rolled quartzite pebbles and red sandy clay.

Vinification and aging

The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted before undergoing vinification in open concrete vats. Total destemming. Fermentation for 10 days before maceration for 3 weeks. Exclusive use of free-run wine. Aged in vats for 14 to 16 months.

M.Chapoutier's 2017 Croix de Bois is a 100% Grenache.
