Les Pelerins de Lafon-Rochet 2019

The 2019 Les Pélerins de Lafon-Rochet has a fragrant bouquet of brambly red fruit, cedar and touches of mint and heather. The palate is medium-bodied with a pliant, approachable entry and fine acidity; no hard edges here. Notes of sour cherry and tobacco appear toward the finish. Fine.

Dark ruby red, an opaque core, purple hues, a subtle brightening on the rim. Ripe plums, dark cherries, a hint of candied orange zest. Juicy, cherry notes, still somewhat demanding, firm tannins, mineral and chalky on the finish, somewhat dry in the aftertaste.

Rather ample, without any present oak, ripe dark fruit, classical style with a slight firmness and tannic grip, good freshness and fairly long finish.

Unfussy earthy notes of raspberry and red cherry, touches of dried bay leaf and white pepper. Dry tannins on the finish. The penultimate vintage under Basile Tesseron, just as this wine is reaching the market, ownership has changed from the Tesseron family to Jacky Lorenzetti.

Deep, intense colour. A lovely fruity nose with slightly smoky oak notes. Precise on the attack, juicy on the mid-palate and very pleasant, the wine finishes a touch austere, with medium length.
