About the
2015 Petit Mouton blend,
Mouton-Rothschild wine estate decided to use 78% of
Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% of
Merlot, 5% of
Cabernet Franc. The grapes were magnificent and fermentation took place quickly. About the contest, the wines immediately showed plenty of colour and a complete array of very intense aromas ranging from red and black fruits to spice and incense. On the nose, the exuberant and intense, almost radiant nose reveals perfectly ripe fruit which lingers on blackberry, toast, coffee and mocha aromas. Roundness and elegance combine on the attack, while the mature body, displaying a lovely velvety, almost silky texture, reveals a remarkably soft and refined mouthfeel, with a very pleasant touch of salinity. A forward but already well-integrated tannic structure gives this
Pauillac a long and succulent finish on floral and fruit notes.
