Splendid wine from Sauternes
G de Chateau Guiraud is a dry white wine produced in the Sauternes appellation. The 29.46 hectare vineyard benefits from a rich terroir with soil composed of 80% sandy-gravel and 20% gravel and clay. The vines are on average 35 years old. The 2016 vintage has 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon.
G de Chateau Guiraud 2016 sparkles in the light, offering bright acidity, a lovely tension on the palate, and a great freshness. A pleasure to drink!
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2016 G de Chateau Guiraud has a crisp grass clipping and limestone-scented bouquet that is nicely defined, although I would like to see more vigor. The palate is crisp on the entry with a touch of lemongrass, a pleasant edginess here with satisfying weight on the finish that just needs a touch more focus to develop before bottling.
