La Fugue de Nenin 2013

A round and fruity Pomerol red wine

Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, the Chateau Nenin is a very nice reference of the Pomerol appellation. Second wine of the Chateau, Fugue de Nenin is a round and silky wine more immediately accessible than the Grand Vin in its youth.

Fugue de Nenin 2013 comes from sandy-clay soils representing the eastern half of the estate's vineyard. It is made from merlot (95%) associated with the cabernet franc (5%).

Fugue de Nenin 2013 reveals itself in an intense garnet color. This intensity is found on the nose when a floral and fruity bouquet is released after aeration, delivering notes of plums and cherries. On the palate, the mouth is silky and supple, wrapped by the fruit of the Merlot. Charming, Fugue de Nenin 2013 can be enjoyed now.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
A good effort from Chateau Nenin, which is owned by the proprietor of the well-known St.-Julien estate, Chateau Leoville Las Cases, the 2013 Nenin is a blend of 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Franc made from tiny yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare. The natural alcohol came in 13.3%. The wine exhibits pleasant notes of black currants, black cherries and mocha in its fruity, medium-bodied, well-balanced personality. No serious tannins interfere with its enjoyment. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
