The estate
Owned by Domaines Delon, Chateau Nenin embodies, according to the Delon family, "the expression of a great Pomerol meant to age". This 19th century estate was acquired by the Delon family in 1997 and underwent a major restructuring, bringing Chateau Nenin to the top of high-quality Pomerol.
The vineyard
Upon a veritable mosaic of terroirs, the 32-hectare vineyard of Chateau Nenin is planted, all in one piece, in clayey soils, silica gravel soils, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles and iron ore.
The wine
Fugue de Nenin is the Second Wine of Chateau Nenin.
The vintage
2020 began with a wet and mild winter, preceding a spring with unstable climatic conditions. Although the union of heavy rainfall and great mildness encouraged a historical earliness, the sufficient water reserves allowed the vineyard to tackle the summer conditions. Alternating hot days and cold nights up to the harvests ensured that the grapes ripened evenly.
Blend
This 2020 Fugue de Nenin is made of a blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).
Tasting
Balanced and tasty, the 2020 Fugue de Nenin seduces with its smooth touch as well as its generous and fruity palate, elevated by a beautiful freshness.
