La Clarte de Haut-Brion 2017

Composed of 30.6% Sauvignon Blanc and 69.4% Sémillon, the 2017 La Clarté de Haut-Brion comes roaring out of the glass with bold notes of fresh apricots, pineapple and lime cordial plus hints of chalk dust, straw and coriander seed with a touch of honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, the palate has electric intensity with bags of stone and tropical fruit layers and a wicked backbone of freshness, finishing long and zesty.

A burst of gooseberry and chamomile flavors leads off here, followed by lemon curd, brioche and wet straw notes through the finish. Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now through 2025.

Aromatic and expressive on the nose with white floral scents, lychee, patisserie, peach, pear and lime. Richly textured on the palate, round with shots of bright, crisp and zesty acidity alongside toasted spices giving frame and structure. Lovely clarity and poise with a creamy, oily weight and succulent juiciness. Refined and polished with charm. A great food wine.

Dense and layered with dried-citrus and lanolin aromas and flavors. Some lemongrass undertones as well. Full body. Attractive texture and length. A little oily. Better after 2021.

The 2017 La Clarté de Haut-Brion has fresh lime, green apple and honeysuckle aromas. The palate is nicely balanced with a rounded entry, without remarkable complexity. A touch of acacia honey appears toward the end and then fades just before the finish.

It takes a certain amount of determination, but with some cajoling, this wine reveals fresh, sweet, lively yellow and orange fruits, oily textures, and a juicy, lemon-drenched finish.

Mostly Semillon, with 30.6% Sauvignon Blanc, the light gold-hued 2017 Le Clarte De Haut-Brion has a bright, racy, delicious style that's loaded with notions of ripe lemon and pineapple fruit as well as plenty of spice and salty minerality. It's medium-bodied, elegant, and beautifully balanced.

Pale yellow with lime-green highlights. Generous grapefruit bouquet with lime and lemongrass, underpinned by noticeable minerality, white nectarine and lemon balm. Delicately layered. On the slender palate, a finely vibrant texture and well-buffered, ripe acidity. Finishes on a zesty, lemony note with marked minerality and white blossoms.

A blend of 69% Semillon and 31% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2017 La Clarte de Haut-Brion tumbles out of the glass with gregarious notes of fresh grapefruit, peach blossoms, and lemon curd, plus wafts of oyster shell and dill seed. The medium-bodied, satin-textured palate delivers mouth-coating citrus and chalky layers, finishing with great length and freshness.

Juicy, taut, fruity, spicy, with bright acidity and a long finish.

Intense bouquet marked by citrus notes with a hint of linden blossom and a touch of hazelnut. Lively, juicy attack. Lovely aromatic intensity on the palate, where the structure brings freshness and promise. Fruity, slightly saline finish. A characterful wine that can be enjoyed in its youth but also has what it takes to spend some time in the cellar.

Logo on the cork: DIAM Yellow-green color. A slightly reductive nose that needs agitation. Very fruity and slightly smoky. The palate shines with its mellowness, smoothness, graceful character, and suppleness. The wine finishes long and particularly flavorful.

Yellow fruits mingle with ripe acidity and citrus in this second white wine of Haut-Brion. Its wood aging is a servant of the fruitiness and tangy texture. Just a hint of herbal flavors is a reminder that Sauvignon Blanc is important in the wine. Drink from 2021.
