Domaine Marc Sorrel : Crozes-Hermitage 2023

The 2023 Crozes-Hermitage is much more accessible from bottle than it was from barrel last year, opening with pronounced black cherry, red plum, pencil shavings and fleshy tones. Medium-bodied, round and gently concentrated, the 2023 eases in with beautifully measured violets on the focused closing note.

Sourced from the village of Larnage on an atypical kaolin-rich terroir, the 2023 Crozes-Hermitage wafts from the glass with aromas of dark berries, violet, spring flowers and mulberries mingled with menthol notes. Medium- to full-bodied, seamless and layered, it displays a beautifully tensile profile, with fine tannins and a vibrant core of fruit, concluding with a long, perfumed finish.
