Description
A historic property of Haut-Medoc, Chateau Verdignan has succeeded in producing a beautiful 2018 vintage.
A red grand vin from Haut-Medoc, the Chateau Verdignan 2018 comes from a vineyard near Pauillac. On the left bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Verdignan expands over a vineyard of 60 hectares planted in a terroir of gravelly soil. Enjoying a privileged location close to the Gironde Estuary, the vineyard is next to the Saint-Estephe appellation. The planting is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).
The grand vin of the property, the Chateau Verdignan 2018 is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (1/4 new wood, renewed every year). A beautiful expression of the Haut-Medoc terroir, the Chateau Verdignan 2018 offers a beautiful aromatic expression, with notes of black fruits, red fruits and spices. On the palate, the wine spreads its dense and concentrated texture, with gorgeous chewy tannins. The development on the palate is complex, stretching into a beautifully long finish. A red grand vin from Haut-Medoc that will develop with a remarkable potential for age.
