This is a lovely wine from the Alain Vauthier stable. Rich, deep and full of fleshy, well-expressed fragrant fruit, this is a great wine to follow among the less expensive St-Émilions. Great winemaking. 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc with a yield of 40 hl/ha.

It’s a medium-bodied, classic, nicely balanced Saint-Emilion that has loads of upfront charm. Offering notes of dark fruits and tobacco, it has an easygoing, rounded texture and is geared for drinking over the coming decade or so. It’s a delicious, satisfying effort.

It bursts with vibrant notes of kirsch, blackberry pie, and redcurrant jelly, followed by suggestions of pencil shavings, dusty soil, dried herbs, and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has tight-knit black and red berry layers with a firm texture of ripe, rounded tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing with a skip in its step.
