2014 Lalande de Pomerol from Bordeaux.
Chateau Siaurac is the most important property of Lalande de Pomerol with a vineyard of 36.5 hectares. The 2014 vintage blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.
The 2014 Chateau Siaurac reveals a dark purple-tinted red colour. This vintage gives off a well-defined and pleasant bouquet in which floral notes mix with fruity aromas of black cherry, and spices. On the palate, the 2014 Chateau Siaurac offers generous fruity hints that can be compared to those of a Pomerol. The tannins are fine and chalky. This wine carries a long finish which is both scented and elegant with mineral accents.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Siaurac was rather stilted on the nose when I tasted it and showed some signs of greenness. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, quite compact but tapering in towards a rather lean finish. It needs to develop the substance and the charm that it showed from barrel - this was a little disappointing. I will seek to reevaluate this.
