It exhibits a deep purple colour. It is intense on the nose with darck berries such as black berry or blackcurrant. The 2006 Château Saint-Pierre palate is structured and the balance between tannins and alcohol is perfect. The 73% Cabernet Sauvignon are completed by 27% Merlot. The mellow and unctuous sensations complete the distinguished length of the palate with an explosion of aromas: coffee, vanilla and liquorice sweet. It is a classic Saint-Julien vintage that certainly belongs to the quality wines of this typical Bordeaux year.

Tasted at the château, the 2006 Château Saint-Pierre has a ripe blackberry, kirsch, cedar and liquorice-scented bouquet that feels as if it is approaching its drinking plateau. The palate is sweet on the entry with liquorice-tinged black fruit, slightly rustic tannins, quite spicy and peppery towards the finish. There is impressive body to this Saint-Pierre, even though it does not possess the precision that more recent vintages have displayed. Tasted April 2016.;2016 - 2030
