2010 Pauillac Cinquieme Cru Classe
This Pauillac 5e Cru Classe reveals a deep, ruby-red colour and gorgeous vermillion red on the surface. The nose exudes subtle notes of tart red fruits along with powder touches, cedar and cigar box. The palate offers a vibrant yet pleasantly fresh attack that quickly evolves into full, creamy texture, with hints of berries.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2010 Pedesclaux is the same blend as the 2009 and the first vintage where the extension to the vineyards came into play, though six hectares that were making poor grapes were excluded from the final blend. It has a superior bouquet compared to the 2009 in terms of precision and delineation, quite airy and floral, almost Margaux-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a little foursquare and more freshness here than the previous vintage with respectable tension on the finish that just lacks a little length in the context of the vintage. Drink this now and over the next 12-15 years. Tasted March 2016.
