2001 Pessac-Leognan Cru Classe
The 2011 Chateau Oliver reveals purple-black hue and accessible, supple, generous texture with spicy notes. The Pessac-Leognan shows Merlot-focused traits even though the Cabernets were blended in higher proportions. The palate offers length and well-defined yet pleasant structure. Commanding tannins coat the finish with lovely flavours.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
A solid effort from this often under-performing estate suggests things are turning around at Olivier. The 2011 offers aromas of wood smoke, graphite, red and black currants and spice in a medium-bodied, nicely executed style. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
