Description

A white Grand Cru from Pessac-Leognan by Malartic-Lagraviere

The estate

Under the leadership of the Bonnie family, the majestic Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere has experienced a spectacular growth. This Grand Cru Classé of Graves enjoys an exceptional location, with its vineyard superbly situated on an outcropping of gravel. Home to state-of-the-art technical facilities, Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere shines bright within its appellation with white and red wines that stand out among the most beautiful of Pessac-Leognan.

The vineyard

The 73-hectare Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere vineyard extends over the Pessac-Leognan appellation. The Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere white 2019 comes from the 9 hectares planted in white in the dry, clayey gravel soils upon shell-limestone subsoils. The vineyard is managed by means of sustainable agriculture and has been certified for High Environmental Value since 2015.

The winemaking and aging

Manual harvest and successive sorting. Slow pressing and fermentation in barrels. Aging on the lees with lees stirring in French oak barrels of which 55% is new. Aging from 12 to 14 months.

The blend

Sauvignon blanc (76,1%), semillon (23,9%)

The tasting

The Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere white 2019 is of very high quality. The aromatic profile of this exceptional white is underlined by a superb balance.
