Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere white 2009: A complex and elegant Pessac-Leognan wine

Graves Classified Growth, produced in the Pessac-Leognan appellation, Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere white is produced on a 7 hectare vineyard. The vines are planted on soil composed on dry gravel and clay-gravel. The wines are aged for 11 months on its lees in oak barrels, with a proportion of 50% new barrels. 2009 is a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon.

Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere white 2009 reveals an extremely rich bouquet of aromas: citrus fruits, exotic fruits (mangoes and pineapples), and delicate smoky notes. Mellow and full in the mouth, the wine is textured and rich, showing a structure that perfectly combines complexity and elegance. Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere White 2009 has a beautiful finish with a touch of minerality. Its vivid and complex aromas are signs of extraordinary potential for aging.

Wine Spectator
Wine Advocate-Parker :
A blend of 80% Sauvignon and 20% Semillon that hit 14% natural alcohol, this is serious wine boasting notes of lemon and lime marmalade intermixed with honeysuckle, a whiff of freshly cut grass and a waxy, melony character. Aromatically complex, this relatively big Malartic Lagraviere should drink well for up to 20 or more years. A great wine!
