The 2019 Le Pauillac de Château Latour is a strong effort, offering up inviting aromas of cassis and plums mingled with notions of cigar wrapper, vanilla pod and creamy oak. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with good concentration and powdery tannins, it will offer a broad drinking window.

Sweet scents on the nose, strawberry and red cherry with some dark chocolate. Supple and lively, smooth and sumptuous at first, then more straight and well defined with a mineral, salty and chalky texture on the palate that grips and coats the mouth. It's very pleasant with high acidity and an enjoyable crushed stone juiciness adding to the clearly ripe fruit. It's complex with bitter orange and dark chocolate alongside toasted herbal accents. It definitely has a serious edge to it and I would still decant if drinking soon but overall it's very characterful and nicely structured.

This has chocolate, cedar and walnuts as well as some currant aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with some lovely fruit and juiciness. 55.8% cabernet sauvignon, 38.8% merlot and 5.4% petit verdot. Attractive now but another year or two will make it even better.

Blackberries, truffle, cigar box, cedar, and leafy herbs form the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, fresh, vibrant, edgy, and loaded with chalky tannins, and cassis. This is ready and delicious now, plus, it is going to continue improving from here. The wine blends 55.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38.8% Merlot, and 5.4% Petit Verdot, 14.8% ABV. Drink from 2025-2040.

Sunny warm and generous with a rich fruitiness. Medium bodied yet dense with fine extract, polished tannin and savoury dark fruit and a long warm finish. A great drinkability at this early stage.

A rocking little Pauillac, the 2019 Le Pauillac De Château Latour has ripe, upfront aromatics of red and black currants, smoke tobacco, and spicy wood that carry to a medium-bodied, supple, layered, nicely balanced wine that has enough tannins to evolve for 20 years or more.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown

A blend of 55.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38.8% Merlot, and 5.4% Petit Verdot, Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour 2019 is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It comes bounding out of the glass with exuberant notes of black cherries, blackcurrant jelly, and menthol, plus suggestions of garrigue, candied violets, and dark chocolate. The full-bodied palate is plush and oh-so-juicy, with a lively line to balance, and a fantastically intense, yet well-poised, finish. Just starting to open-out and reveal its decadent core, this is the best Pauillac de Chateau Latour since the fabulous 2016, albeit even more concentrated and powerful—a fitting reflection of Latour, if you will.

Le Figaro Vin

An enchanting bouquet of crisp red fruits, with delicious aromas of flowers and floral sap. Fruity, intense and generous, it sings on the nose. The palate is fresh and fruity, with a satin-like texture, beautifully structured by lovely, finely grained tannins.

Pauillac 2019 immediately shows an inviting, fruit-driven character, with a clear desire to win people over through its clarity and open, expressive style. The palate simply confirms the promises of the bouquet. The wine is supple, juicy, expressive and ready to be enjoyed. A truly indulgent wine!

The nose is aromatic, offering fruit, a lovely floral/pollen-like character and a delicate peppery note. It reveals notes of iris and violet, with a lighter hint of blackberry, alongside attractive touches of small blue fruits, saffron and cherry, as well as fine hints of liquorice. The palate is fruity, with minerality, good definition, energy and drive, a lovely freshness, a gentle creaminess and a bright, tangy backbone. Subtle, yet very fresh. On the palate, this wine shows notes of juicy, fleshy blackberry and fresh, juicy blackcurrant, with a lighter touch of blueberry and iris, combined with hints of chocolate, toasted hazelnut and saffron, plus a touch of crunchy cherry, chocolate and toasted/caramelised nuances. A subtle roasted/coffee note appears on the finish and through the persistence. Lovely length. Well-managed bitterness.

Jean-Marc Quarin

This is a wine that needs decanting to dispel a slightly lactic note when the bottle is opened. Precise on the attack, very fruity on the mid-palate, with a lovely texture, the wine unfolds with an upward surge of energy. It finishes long, with nuances of ink, fruit and an underlying woody tone.
