A structured and aromatic Haut-Medoc red wine by Chateau Larrivaux
The estate
Located in Haut-Medoc, Chateau Larrivaux is a wine estate founded in the 16th century. Established on land where nothing existed before, the mansion and vineyard were erected against all odds. The peculiarity of this estate is that it has been run passed down from mother to daughter since 1580.
The vineyard
The vines of Chateau Larrivaux are planted on 3 small islets which represent 19 hectares of vineyard. This vineyard is planted in clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils.
Vinification and aging
The harvest took place from September 22 to 30. Alcoholic fermentation took place in concrete and stainless steel vats, followed by aging in vats and barrels.
The blend
The Chateau Larrivaux 2020 was made from a blend of Merlot (61%), Cabernet Sauvignon (26%), Cabernet Franc (8%) and Petit Verdot (5%).
