Beautifully located in the heart of the exceptional terroir on top of the Pomerol Plateau, Chateau La Violette is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in this prestigious appellation on the Right Bank in the Bordeaux region.
The late Catherine Pere-Verge’s love for fine wines and her passion has made La Violette one of the greatest Pomerol wines. As a truly stellar wine, Pomerol’s La Violette shows perfectly ripe fruit that gives a mouthfeel touched with incomparable sweetness and velvetiness.
The prime location of Chateau La Violette at the top of the Pomerol plateau saved the vineyard from the frosts that hit at the end of April 2017, and these frosts also affected many of the vineyards in the appellation.
La Violette 2017 is 100% Merlot from the best parcels of the estate. It shines as one of the most beautiful benchmarks of this vintage and highlights the extreme care and precision taken in the vineyards and the winery to capture the essence of Pomerol.
The purity and intensity of the fruit carry through to the mid-palate, which then reveals a tense and a superbly dense tannic structure. La Violette 2017 is undeniably in line with some of the greatest Pomerol wines.
