A rich and silky Premier Cru Classé de Graves

The property

Château Haut-Brion, located near Bordeaux, is an exceptional wine estate, founded in the 16th century, and recognized as the oldest of the Grands Crus of Bordeaux. Spanning 51 hectares, of which 48 are dedicated to red grape varieties and 3 to white grape varieties, the estate has been managed by the Dillon family since 1935. Haut-Brion stands out for its unique terroir of sands and gravels.

The vintage

2003 was an exceptional climatic year in the Pessac-Léognan appellation with record temperatures. The rainfall from April to September only reached 263 mm compared to a century average of 410 mm.

Grape varieties

Merlot (58%), cabernet sauvignon (31%) and cabernet franc (11%).
