Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal oversees a 30-hectare vineyard with an exceptional terroir located on the famous Bages plateau that rests on Garonne gravel soil dating back to the Gunz Ice Age.
The frosts that hit the southern part of the Medoc vineyards at the end of April 2017 spared the Pauillac vineyards due to the protective role of the river, which helps regulate weather. The berries reached the perfect stage of ripeness to have an ideal tannin-acidity balance while maintaining great aromatic freshness.
