Description
LVMH releases a mineral Côtes de Provence rosé wine with a fine aromatic structure
The property
Promoted to Cru Classé de Provence in 1955, Château Galoupet was acquired in 2019 by Moët Hennessy, the Wine & Spirits division of the LVMH group, with the ambition of restoring the prestige of these unique terroirs.
The vineyard
Château Galoupet looks after 77 hectares of classified woodland and 69 hectares of vines, organic since August 2020. The estate's terroir is made up of 41 individually vinified plots. Following the acquisition of the estate, Moët Hennessy instigated a complete soil study (which took 3 years), the application of rigorous care to the entire vineyard as well as the modernisation of the wine-making tools, in order to produce a great Côtes de Provence wine.
The wine
Château Galoupet 2022 is the perfect expression of both the richness of the great vineyards of Provence and the environmental commitment of the LVMH group.
Produced exclusively from the estate's own vineyards and managed in an environmentally friendly manner, this wine is presented in innovative packaging - namely an 80% recyclable and very light amber glass bottle.
Winemaking and ageing
Gentle pressing to protect the grapes from oxidisation while preserving the aromatic purity of the fruit. Vinification 30% of the wines in 600L French oak demi-muids (62% new and 38% one year old) and aged on fine lees for 3 to 4 months. The other batches are vinified and aged in barrels.
