The estate
The Château du Tertre is a 5th Classified Growth of Margaux located on the left bank of Bordeaux. Since its purchase at the end of 1997 by Eric Albada Jelgersma, considerable investments have been made to sublime this exceptional and rare homogeneous terroir. Château du Tertre has been operated by the Helfrich family since January 2021, managers of the trading company Les Grands Chais de France.
The vineyard
Produced as a Table wine, Château du Tertre blanc 2023 comes from a 6.20 hectare vineyard, of which 3.80 hectares are in production. The terroir, composed of light gravel and deep sands, preserves, even in hot and dry conditions, a freshness characteristic of this wine's signature.
Vinification and ageing
Manual harvest and sorting. Crushing and cold pressing. The ageing of 6 months on fine lees is carried out in barrels or in 500L demi-muids (60% new wood, 40% of a wine).
