The 2012 Chateau de Beaucastel is produced on a single-region vineyard of about 110 hectares, on the north of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Chateau de Beaucastel is located on the great terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This 2012 is 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Counoise, 10% Syrah and 5% Cinsault.
This purple-tinted almost black red coloured wine offers a both fine and strong nose. One can find red berry, blackcurrant, blackberry, spices, thyme and lavender notes. The palate reveals a wonderful attack, both ample and supple. The 2012 Chateau de Beaucastel develops fig, cherry, blackberry, stewed fruit aromas underlined by a very good acidity. The tannins are present yet extremely fine. This is a great vintage of Chateau de Beaucastel.
